We offer gold standard specialist comprehensive assessments of ASD in children and adults and screen for other neurodevelopmental conditions including ADHD. We have extensive expertise in the complexities of diagnosis of ASD in girls and women.

Our assessments are NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) compliant and are accepted by the NHS and Education Services. They include a comprehensive standardised developmental interview; use of the ADOS-II (Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule – Second Edition); rigorous cognitive assessment; and mental health screening. Appointments take place at our Consulting Rooms, at home and in the school (where appropriate).

Our service also provides screening of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), attachment and complex trauma. Differential diagnosis of conditions with similar or overlapping symptoms is considered an essential component of assessment.

Assessment typically involves at least three appointments after which we produce a thorough report with a diagnostic profile and recommendations. Prior to commencing a full assessment we offer an initial screening assessment to determine whether a full assessment is indicated.

We handle all personal information with sensitivity and confidentiality in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Discussion of who can be a source of information for the purpose of your assessment and who can have access to your personal information will take place at an early stage.

We try to keep our waiting time to a maximum of 20 weeks (from initial consultation to final report). We also offer a small number of assessments per year at a concession rate for low income families.
